San Francisco's front office opted to go younger at the defensive tackle position in 2025 after the veteran combo of Javon Hargrave and Maliek Collins fell flat last year. The team selected the younger Alfred Collins (no relation to Maliek) in the second round with the intention of the Texas product playing a prominent role on the interior D-line under returning defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.
